CARE inducts Board officers, holds Executive Safety Seminar

The newly elected Board officials of the Cordillera Association of Regional Executives (CARE) were inducted last September 27, 2013 at the Philippine Military Academy, Baguio City.
The CARE Board Officers for 2013-2015 are the following: President – DILG Dir. John M. Castañeda; Vice-Pres. – NEDA Dir. Milagros A. Rimando; Secretary – HLURB Dir. Teresita V. Galacgac; Asst. Secretary – Dir. Franklin E. Cocoy; Treasurer – Land Bank Manager Adeline M. Ramos and Asst. Treasurer DOST ARD Osmond B. Belmonte.
Elected as Auditor is PMA’s Brig. Gen. Emeraldo C. Magnaye; PRO – PIA Dir. Helen R. Tibaldo; and Business Manager – DPWH Dir. Edilberto P. Carabbacan. Marshalls are OCD Dir. Andrew Alex H. Uy and PRO-Cor Dir. Benjamin B. Magalong. DENR Regional Exec. Dir. Clarence L. Baguilat is the Ex-Officio President.
Apayao Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr, who was the Guest of Honor, shared that for him, CARE stands for: Crucial Alliance for the Reformation of Everyone. He challenged all the heads of agencies present to work together for the good of the people of the Cordillera Region.
After the induction ceremony, the CARE members underwent Executive Safety seminar and practical exercises.
Technical Sgt. Gilbert Dendo of PMA, briefed the government executives on proper gun handling which was followed by a fun-shoot.
DOH partners with Cordillera Regional Executives for Pilipinas Go 4 Health campaign BY: CARLITO C. DAR
BAGUIO CITY, July 19 (PIA) -- The Department of Health (DOH) has engaged a new partner, the Cordillera Association of Regional Executives (CARE), for its healthy lifestyle movement – the Pilipinas Go for Health.
DOH Assistant Secretary Dr. Enrique Tayag, who was one of the guests of CARE in its 2013 general assembly last Tuesday at the Baguio Country Club, talked about the Pilipinas Go for Health campaign and enjoined the CARE officials and members to reciting the Pilipinas Go for Health pledge.
The pledge read: “We believe that every Filipino has the right to a healthy family, community, and country. As lead advocate for the nationwide healthy lifestyle movement, we work hand-in-hand with different sectors to provide options for healthy living and make it accessible to as many people as possible. Ultimately, Pilipinas Go4Health hopes to contribute to successful nation and inclusive development by encouraging Filipinos to embrace four key health habits: physical activity, proper nutrition, and the prevention or cessation of smoking and alcohol consumption”.
Tayag explained that as infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases or lifestyle related illnesses remain to be major health concern worldwide, DOH and its partners have embarked to Pilipinas Go For Health campaign which aims to inform and encourage Filipinos from all walks of life to practice a healthy lifestyle by making a commitment to physical activity, proper nutrition, and the prevention or cessation of smoking and alcohol consumption.
Through the movement, they encourage personal commitment, institutional participation and community involvement, he said.
Tayag stressed the importance of the partnership between DOH and associations like CARE, whose officials and members are heads and assistant heads of government line agencies in the region, to touch base with the around 39 percent the movement’s target which is the Philippine workforce.
He also led CARE members in dancing the Pilipinas Go Four Health and healthy lifestyle dance campaigns.
The assembly was a day of fun, work and learning for CARE members. Outgoing CARE president Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Director Clarence Baguilat also spearheaded the election of the new set of officers. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
